Ilie Mitaru is an Emmy-nominated producer and director whose work centers on regular people in extraordinary circumstances, with a focus on stories across the American West.

Ilie’s films and photography have been featured in The New York Times, National Geographic, and The Guardian, among others. A first-generation Romanian-American whose parents received political asylum during the Cold War, Ilie is drawn to stories that push against easy assumptions of otherness and strive for a more complex understanding of the individuals and communities centered in his work.He has worked on documentary projects for the likes of the New York Times, National Geographic, CNN, among others. Alex Lieberman is an Emmy nominated and Peabody Award winning producer and the founder of Bright West Entertainment. Bright West focuses on telling stories about remarkable individuals from historically underexplored and overlooked communities. Bright West films have screened at over 100 film festivals around the world and premiered at festivals including Sundance, Tribeca, Tiff, and CPH:Dox. Recent projects include One With The Whale on PBS, Summer Qamp and Hoof Dreams both for Peacock, the documentary series Supa Girlz on AllBlk and Tubi, and the British Independent Film Award nominated Red Herring. Prior to launching Bright West, Lieberman worked in unscripted development for production companies including Optomen, MGM Television, and Stick Figure Productions.

Yalda Mostajeran is an Emmy- and BAFTA-nominated editor working across a wide array of film and television formats. A first generation Iranian and Texas native, she graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Film and TV, and received her Master’s from NYU in Documentary Film and Broadcast Journalism.
