Act of Service occupies several key spaces within the documentary genre that hold promise for broad market appeal: Horse training and therapy; criminal justice reform, questions of rehabilitation and restorative justice; military service, American veterans grappling with PTSD, TBI, substance abuse and homelessness.

While there have been successful films about horse training in prisons, this is the first program in the country that combines horse training and therapy for incarcerated veterans.

The production has obtained a 5-year exclusive to be the only film crew granted access to the prison, horse training facility, horse trainers and therapists, and the inmates themselves.
